Whooping Cough / Pertussis Cases Reported in Green County, Monroe County, and New Glarus Wisconsin
According to the Green County Health Department, there has been a significant increase in pertussis cases reported in Green County WI during the recent years. During the last year (2004) alone, Green County had 47 confirmed cases of pertussis -which was a very significant increase from the previous year considering there were no pertussis cases reported in the Green County during the year 2003. Green county WI had only eight cases of whooping cough in 2002, and only once confirmed case of this bacterial infectious disease in 2001.
One case of Pertussis has been confirmed in Monroe WI, and another case in New Glarus this year. Lafayette county reports no such cases in 2005 thus far. Lafayette County Health Department had only one confirmed case of pertussis in 2004.
