For the third quarter of 2005, James River Coal Company and subsidiaries produce steam and industrial grade coal in Central Appalachia has reported a net loss of $2.2 million or $0.14 per fully diluted share.
The black lung benefits reported by the company for the second quarter of FY 2005 were in the same ballpark: Noncurrent portion of black lung benefits being $23,496,000 and the actual blacklung benefits payout during the FY 2005 Q2 being $2,600,000.
James River Coal Company's operations are located in the Central Appalachian coal basin.
